During the 6 day period Dec. 2nd - 7th, 2023, various combinations of Phil Mandolare, Joe Galarneau, Kevin Peck, and Bob Underhill worked on hauling 2+ truckloads of junk out of the schoolhouse basement, swept the basement probably for the first time in several decades, and removed dead trees (standing & on the ground) from the side yard and back, cleared weedy trees and other scrub growth behind the schoolhouse, and began the process of clearing away the tree & shrub growth and debris from the steps to the former 1797 Meeting House. In all 19 truckloads of tree & shrub debris was hauled away.
The interior cleanups will make it easier to see what repairs are needed. The outside work has made it possible to get trucks behind the building as may be needed, eliminated some known falling dead tree hazard, and began the process of exposing the front steps to the former 1797 Meeting House. More cleanup work remains to be done inside & out, but this 6 day effort significantly moved us forward.
