The original part of the East Clarendon Cemetery, about an acre in size, was on private property. In 1829 Ezra Crary & William Carpenter deeded it to the town. In 1883 the East Clarendon Cemetery Association was formed and in 1908 the town conveyed the cemetery to the association. It is active and has plots available. The cemetery is located across from the airport on Airport Road in Clarendon. The contact person for this cemetery is:
Lane Douglass, 802-775-3846
There are 2,654 burials recorded in Find A Grave ranging from 1792 - 2024. This is by far the largest and most active cemetery in Clarendon. The grounds are in good order but some of the older tombstones are in need of some maintenance.
See the entry East Clarendon Cemetery Map in this collection for a plot map created in 1881 and updated in 1933.
