Nichols Montgomery Powers (1817 - 1897) is possibly the most accomplished person to ever have lived in Clarendon. On 5-9-19 in Woodstock a talk on the life of Nichols Powers was given by Devin Colman, Vermont's State Architectural Historian. The talk includes a number of scenes from Clarendon. It is approx. 53 minutes long but well worth the time investment to listen to the whole talk.
Note that his correct name was Nichols, not Nicholas as has often been used. His maternal grandmother's maiden name was Nichols.
