The attached paper by Dawn Hance found at the link above is an excellent summation of the life and family of one of Clarendon's first settlers, Daniel Marsh (1748 - 1808).  Daniel holds the distinction of being the only person from Clarendon to have gotten his property back after the Tory confiscations of 1778.  See the Tory Prisoners entry here in the People collection for more information on those confiscations.
