The Pitts home was on North Shrewsbury Rd on the way to the train station.  It is said to have been previously owned by the Horton Family (Bent Earl Horton 1848 - 1906 & Ella Georgiana Gould 1851 - 1915).   This home does not appear on the 1869 map and presumably was built sometime after that unless it was not west of the rail tracks.  There is some question as to whether this photo is actually the Pitts home.  At issue is the Pitts home is said to have been where Carrara's is now.  In the photo below the large two story house in the background where Carrara's is now not this home shown in the cover photo.  Either the cover photo is not the Pitts home or the Pitts home was across the road from Carrara's or east of the tracks.

The photo at the bottom below is of Charles Pitts (1866 - 1937) who had been a mail carrier in North Clarendon.
