Louis Henry Potter (1891-1986) was one of Vermont's premier ornithologists and botanists, with a specialty in ferns. The attached newspaper article from 1980 speaks to his renown. Henry was the son of Louis Napoleon Potter (1858-1932) and Alice Jessie Eddy (1858-1943) and lived his life on the family farm on East Tinmouth Rd. You can see his home (the William Potter House) in the Homes collection and farm (the Henry Potter Farm) in the Farms and Barns collection. Henry is buried in the Chippenhook Cemetery.
