In the early 1900's bovine tuberculosis was the most common disease of cattle in the US.  The Cooperative State-Federal Tuberculosis Eradication Program was begun in 1917 in an attempt to eradicate the disease from the country's herds.  The cover photo is the 1933 certification that the Roy C. Bixby (1892-1955) herd was tuberculosis-free.
