All of the items shown in the photo are from the late 1700's/early 1800's and come from what may have been the site of the original Button family cabin. The four items on the left are buttons. Top right is a horse bridle rosette. The two items on the bottom right are a 1798 Draped Bust US Large Cent and a Suspender Clip.
Charles Button (1739-1790), his wife Anna Wilcox (1743-1777), and their sons Joseph Sr. (1762-1838) and Charles Frederick (1763-1809) were one of the very first families to settle in Clarendon. They came to what was then still known as Durham in 1767 from Preston, CT.
