This ca. 1830 Canadian Half Penny (backside shown below) was found on Rt 7B South.  It is called a Blacksmith Token because according to legend they were made by a Montreal blacksmith to pay for his liquor.  Blacksmith Tokens were imitations of the British Half Penny and were purposely made to appear old so as to match real British Half Pennies that had been in circulation for a long time.
