This pocket horn was found in a wooded area of Chippenhook. A pocket horn is a small
powder horn that could fit in one's pocket or bag. The age of this horn is unknown. This one is very
typical of 18th and 19th century pocket horns but it more likely is from
the 20th century.
Its condition more speaks to have been lost in the recent past than in the distant past. There was a huge hobbyist movement in the early 20th century of
shooting muzzle loaders in the traditional fashion. That might be the era this horns dates back to.
