This Airport Rd home is said to have been built ca. 1800 but it does not appear on the 1854 map.  Its location would seem to indicate it wouldn't have been missed but perhaps it was.  The property had many years earlier belonged to William Carpenter (1754 - 1816) and was subsequently split amongst his numerous heirs  Thomas Pierce bought this property from William's heirs in two transactions, one in 1846 and the other in 1850.

For Thomas Pierce (1820 - 1904) who was married to Julia Button (1823 - 1873), this property was likely an investment rather than his primary dwelling.  At the time of the 1850, 1860, & 1870 censuses Thomas and Julia lived with Thomas' father John N. Pierce (1790 - 1881) and stepmother Sally (Carr) Pierce (1805 - 1882) and in 1880 Thomas was still living with them.  John & Sally lived on Middle Rd.

The cover photo and the one immediately below are courtesy of Phil Mandolare in 2020.  The two below that are from Google Earth pre-2020.  Given the extent to which this house has been modified we would be most appreciative of any older photos that might surface.
