It is not known when this East Clarendon Rd house was built or by who.  We know that it was built subsequent to 1869 as it does not appear on the 1869 map.  There are very similarly designed homes in Clarendon that date to 1870, 1873, 1880, and 1890 which may be roughly indicative of when this house was built.

The last occupant of what are now ruins beyond repair was Willard Squier (1899 - 1996).  Willard had lived there since early childhood, his being the 3rd of 9 children of George A. Squier Sr. (1868 - 1951) and Anna May Page (1875 - 1966).

In 1948 Willard married Helen Peabody (1909 - 1991).  They did not have any children.  Helen was a teacher and Willard a farmer, 4-H volunteer, and State Farm Bureau agent.  He was also known far and wide for the gladiolas he grew.  Willard was a graduate of the University of Vermont.  He and Helen  were very active in local affairs.

We do not have any photos of this house from back when it was still occupied. If anyone has one please contact us.

These photos are courtesy of Phil Mandolare in 2020.
