A log home was built on this site in the autumn of 1767/winter of 1768 by Charles Button (1739 - 1790) who came to Clarendon from Preston, CT with his wife Ann Wilcox (1743 - 1777) and their sons Joseph (1760 - 1842) and Charles Frederick (1763 - 1809).  They are the first recorded family in Clarendon.

Charles Frederick in 1792 built the Charles Frederick Button House that can be seen in the Homes collection.  In the Artifacts collection some items found at the site of the log cabin and the 1792 home can be seen in the Button's Buttons, Coins @ Rt 7B South, and Shoe Buckles (last three photos) entries.

The cover is from Google Earth in 2019.
