The cover photo from 1936 appeared in the Rutland Herald. It shows Elijah Moses Eddy (1866 - 1942) using oxen for working his fields on Creek Road. Elijah was married to Ruth Seamans (1878 - 1954) and was the son of Winslow Salisbury Eddy (1828 - 1908) and Susan P. Ricker (1842 - 1920). The photo with its caption is repeated below. Below that is an article and photo from 1940 of his brother James Warren Eddy (1875 - 1954), again using an ox. Elijah is buried in the Chippenhook Cemetery and James in the East Clarendon Cemetery. Both articles are courtesy of the Rutland Historical Society.
At the bottom are two undated photos of James Eddy sugaring with the oxen.
